Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have played a critical role in ensuring that African Americans—and students of all races—receive quality higher education. This CCA panel will feature alumni of HBCUs who will share their experience and the opportunities their HBCU provided.
The CCA is an initiative designed to expose high school students to college and career opportunities. The goal is to use the LADF brand to make college & career pathways exciting. Only 29.7% of Los Angeles County residents hold a college degree. In the 2017-2018 academic year, 56.2% of Los Angeles County students met the UC/CSU entrance, or A-G course requirements. We provide students access to career knowledge, networking opportunities and help students understand the steps to get into college and scholarship opportunities.
